Battery Recycling

CWM accepts rechargeable small batteries for recycling. Rechargeable batteries are containing hazardous Nickel (Ni), Cadmium (Cd), Lithium (Li), Lead (Pb) etc. CWM learnt that alkaline small batteries used to dispose with general garbage in Sri Lanka.
All kinds of batteries contain hazardous chemicals and substances. There are toxic and corrosive chemicals in the batteries that can leach into groundwater if these batteries are not disposed of properly. One mobile phone battery could contaminate over 30,000 litres of pure water.

CWM accepts rechargeable batteries from mobile phones, laptops, video cameras, Power tools, UPS batteries and even telecommunication batteries for sustainable recycling process. The final products of the recycled batteries are refined raw materials for new productions.
